As you probably know, or don’t, I use WordPress.  While me other sites are on WordPressMU (80 in total), I got tired of updating them.  So I installed a standalone version of WordPress.  Many more options then the limited version of MU.  For those that know, they know.  Anyhow, glad to [...]]]> It has taken me weeks, but I have finally merged both of my sites (personal, tech) to one.  This, to me, is great.  I can finally start blogging about what I want without having to update the 2 sites.

I have organized my site pretty well.  For those concerned about their pictures, or kids pictures, being on line, don’t worry.  Only registered users on my site can see my personal stuff and only the ones I let register.

Because of this, I will be able to use this site professionally too, meaning having none family related blog info, like programming that I like to share with others online.  For instance, you must be logged in to read this.  I am able to hide stuff [...]]]> It has taken me some time, but I think RDGRiffin.com and our WordPress MU is ready to go.

Because of this, I will be able to use this site professionally too, meaning having none family related blog info, like programming that I like to share with others online.  For instance, you must be logged in to read this.  I am able to hide stuff not only to registered users, but I can assign different people different user levels, each level able to see more on the site.  I can also limit certain blog entries to certain users.

I have wanted to start a personal blog for years, but really didn’t want all of my personal stuff available to everyone that had a computer and Internet access.  With the special software I created for my site, and software I can share with you if you want to start your own blog, this is possible.
